My new Facebook Fan Page

As if I don't already have enough to keep me occupied for 30 hours in every day,

I have just gone and created my own 'fan page' on Facebook...
(I don't really like calling it a 'fan page'...it's not like I'm a rockstar or anything)

Well,

all the cool people are doing it,

and I gave up sleep a long time ago anyway.

So...

go on, 'Like' me...

you know you want to ;-)

(Pretty please!  And thank you!)

P.S.  Only one day remains before my Etsy store officially launches.  So much to do...arghhhh!

Executive Decision

February 1.

It sounds like a lovely day, doesn't it?

Yes, I think so.

I think it's so lovely,
in fact,
that I've made an executive decision to (re)open my Etsy store on this day.

Yes, I'm doing it.

Finally.

No more excuses,
no more procrastinating,
no more fear.

I'm just doing it.

I wish I could take all the credit for making such a monumental decision.

But February 1 was actually hubby's idea.

Just as well one of us is good at making decisions, eh ;-)

P.S.  A little birdie told me that there may be a giveaway to celebrate said (re)opening of my store... *wink wink*

A keeper...

I started creating this ring,

with the intention of putting it into the shop...

...but it has become a keeper...

...a reminder of a very difficult, emotional few weeks...

...too precious to part with...

...so it will be remaining with me...

But that's ok,

a girl can never have too many jewels, non? ;-)

P.S.  Although I'm keeping this ring for myself, I'll be making something similar to put into the shop :-)

Hunting for treasure...

That's what it feels like,

when I switch off my tumbler,

and go hunting through the steel shot...

Can you see it?  A glimmer of silver?  A hint of what lies beneath...

...searching...

...for sparkling silver...

Oh-so-shiny...

...and gleaming jewels...

...perfectly polished...

...and ready for a pretty patina!

I don't think I shall ever tire of this kind of treasure hunt ;-)

Stay tuned for a preview of the finished jewels!

Sneak Preview: The *Desert Flower* Ring in Turquoise

There blooms a flower
in the rolling sands of the Sahara.
Delicate,
yet strong...
radiant,
and robust.

Her petals turned skyward,
kissed
by the desert sun.
She basks,
glowing,
honouring the endless blue.

The desert winds,
rugged and relentless,
push,
and drive,
testing her tenacity,
her fortitude.

Yet she remains,
her stance is resolute,
steadfast.
She is unwavering in the face of adversity.
She is strong.
She is beautiful.

A ring to celebrate your beauty and your strength...

Coming to my Etsy store soon! :-)

This year I want to continue to grow my silversmithing skills, to continue to learn and jump in at the deep end, to create without fear of failure or making mistakes (there are NO mistakes, only opportunities to learn!).

How are you hoping to grow this year?
