Suggestions for boys names are also being accepted ;-) LOL
Here is the collar with the completed fringe:
And a close-up of the fringe:
I thought I would try a vertical, rather than horizontal, picot edge on this collar. Mostly to hide the foundation from showing through in a couple of places. I'm fairly happy with the result.
WOW!! This piece is just stunning Belinda!! I'm honestly speechless!! Oh a clasp would be a difficult decision. Personally I would love to see a button and eye closure but something not too overstated to take away from the hummingbird although a flower would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteAh, boys names... well my son's middle name is Skylar which I have always adored and Austin is another favorite so throw mine into the hat if you will. ;-)
I tried clicking on the bottom image but it wouldn't enlarge. Still the intricate beauty is quite evident.
Have a wonderful weekend dear friend♥
That is beautiful! It comes across as being a very 'carefree' piece... just beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteOH! Is very wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!
Have a nice St.Valentine day.
Wow, thats one beautiful collar! It makes me happy just to look at it.
ReplyDeleteSharon, would you believe after my post yesterday I actually finished the collar! LOL You were right, something not too overstated :) I'll post pics soon (when it stops raining...which may not be until next week LOL). I love the name Skylar, but our daughter's middle name is Skye so unfortunately they're a little too similar!
ReplyDeleteVampi, thank you, I'm glad you like it :) Carefree is a good way to describe it!
Anna, thank you! Happy Valentine's Day to you too! :)
Sarah, thank you for dropping by! I'm glad my collar makes you happy...I love receiving comments like that :D
Oh that's wonderful news! I'm so excited to see the final photos. I have been working on a UFO that's a bit frustrating but it's finally beginning to take shape. I had wanted to use part of what I had already created but ended up having to revamp the entire thing. I suppose rather than taking up this space I should just blog about it. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAre you on Facebook? I just joined this week and love it. Would love to be able to chat or send longer messages if you're interested.
Beautiful name, Skye!♥
LOL Feel free to write about it here ;) It's frustrating having to revamp something from scratch, isn't it! I take my hat off to you for perservering ;)
ReplyDeleteFacebook, yes! There should be a Facebook box with my profile pic down the bottom righthand side of my blog. Click on that and then add me as a friend! :D
Ohhh Belinda that is spectacular... the fringeing is absolutely stunning... the colours you have chosen are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI hope the sun comes out soon so you can take a photo of the finished piece as I am intrigued to see what you did in terms of the clasp! Nice work luv!!
this is a heirloom piece...

mona & the gaffer girls
Thanks Karyn! I wasn't sure about the fringing to begin with, but I think it fits in with the theme of the piece :)
ReplyDeleteGreetings Mona & the Gaffer Girls! :D Thanks for stopping by and leaving such lovely comments, you sure know how to make a girl's day ;) Thanks for the name suggestions too...Hallynd/Holland is one of the coolest names I've heard lately! :)
