Red and Green

Mother Nature knows how to dress for Christmas.

Her reds are the sweetest scarlet,

fiery and festive...

...waiting to bloom, a blush of crimson...

Her greens are lush and verdant...

(and isn't cypress just the scent of Christmas!)

textural, tactile...

...perfectly draped...

She wears baubles of red...

...and bells of white...

She leaves seasonal treasures to delight...

waiting to be found...

...and brought home...

A wander through the garden has me feeling fine and festive!

  2. Oh Kirsty, how different are your Christmas' now compared to when you were living here in Australia! I bet snow makes it feel even MORE like Christmas, huh ;-)

India is such a little nature girl...she's always bringing home sticks and stones and pinecones when we go for a walk :-)

  6. Thanks Lenita...I have been taking the camera with me everywhere lately, trying to capture moments and the smaller details which I so often overlook :-)

It sounds as though you have plenty of snow to spare, so I'll be more than happy if you want to send some my way! ;-)

  7. Oh we are getting it too and I have to say I think I would like it better if it weren't so bitter cold! I will try to send some but if you get a squishy box in the mail it's not my fault!

  12. I totally agree, Aleta...Mother Nature always provides us with something beautiful to look at, even on the gloomiest of days! I'm so glad you like my photos, it's a pleasure to share them with you :-)

LOL Ah Nicole, I can imagine that you have seen enough snow to last a lifetime! I don't think I could live somewhere cold permanently, but a white Christmas would make a nice change ;-) I will send you a message soon, life has just been so busy lately...I have missed you! B. -xo-

  13. It's so strange to think that Christmas is a summer holiday for you. :D And that you can pick flowers in your garden to decorate with. When I look out the window it's white, white, blue, white. Right now it's started to snow again. Enough already. I don't want to shovel anymore snow now. LOL And in about 15min do I need to get all bundled up to go get Sigrid in school. Meeehhh.... I don't want to leave the house.

Lovely pictures Belinda and I especially like the one with India carrying the cone.

  14. LOL I know, A-K! I've never known anything but BBQs and heatwaves for Christmas :-D The thought of a white Christmas is romantic to me, but ok, I can see your point...there is such a thing as TOO much snow! I guess you can't stay in the house by the fire all day, you have to go out INTO the snow at some point *brrrr* And I can see that the novelty of shovelling snow would wear thin after...ohh...about five minutes! LOL :-{
