The 'Marrakech' earrings

Last week I was fortunate enough to meet one of my favourite bead suppliers in person, the lovely Jo of Cranberry Beads, at the Perth Bead Fair.  I came home with some gorgeous new seed beads and some of them have already found their way into one of my latest projects...

Following along with my Moroccan theme, the Marrakech earrings feature seed beads in shades of bronze, chocolate, silver...

...from the teardrop-shaped earrings hang three gorgeous wire-wrapped micro faceted smoky quartz briolettes...

...the earrings are slightly convex in shape, and are reminiscent of the arches and domes so frequently found in Moroccan architecture...

I wasn't sure about this design after I made the first earring, so I let it sit in my studio while I mulled on it overnight.  My husband saw it, loved it, and assured me it was a great design.  What do you think, should I listen to my husband more often? ;-)

Thanks for looking, and be well!

  1. I too think it's a great design. You did a great job. I think the work you do is awesome. I like the tear dropped shaped earrings, very nice. Have a great week.

  2. Thank you very much, Gloria...I wish you a great week also! :-)

  3. Yes, your husband is right! The earrings are very beautiful!
    Kind regards

  4. Thank you Eveline...I will tell him that you approve! :-)

  5. Ok Belinda the only thing I can say is "I WANT THEM!" stunning! :)

  6. Yes, this time you should listen to him. They ARE beautiful! Remind me of the windows in Moroccan houses to let in a fresh breeze of air during hot summer days.

  7. Kristen, I'm so glad you like them :-) I've been wearing them often and they're surprisingly lightweight...I forget I'm wearing them!

    Thanks Mimi :)

Kokopelli, I love Moroccan architecture and's impossible not to be inspired by it! Thanks for the lovely comments :)

  8. Hey Belinda I don't want you to get in the habit of always listening to Anthony (LOL ha ha ha just kidding) However, I will give him credit on this one. LOL Totally right about the design and the colors. I love these.

  9. LOL Nicole you make me laugh! :-) Anthony always insists that he doesn't have an artistic bone in his body, but I think he has a good eye for colour and design and I often ask him for his opinion ;-) He's surprisingly honest too...he'll tell me if something could be better! LOL

  10. With your lovely earrings you make me motivated not only to create some pairs but also to wear them :) I just love these ones as well. Luv N.

  11. Thanks Niki! I'm glad I've motivated you to make some earrings...they're so fast to create, I just love them at the moment :-) B. -xo-

  12. Thank you Angelina! I have worn these earrings often and they are comfy and seem to go with just about any outfit :-)

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me a comment!
