Torn...

I think this word perfectly sums up how I've been feeling for the past week...

...torn...

This is not necessarily a bad thing!

I'm torn between wanting to continue with my *Moroccan Odyssey* Collection...

and wanting to start something new,

something fresh.

I bore easily...do you?

I'm certainly not done with my Moroccan collection...

there are still many, many more ideas waiting to be brought to life!

Yet, I want a change.

I want to try something new.

So, tonight I did.

In between cooking dinner and packing for a 3-day trip interstate tomorrow (well, I was procrastinating on that packing bit), I taught myself how to make a basic prong setting...

This is just the beginning,

there is much work yet to be done...

but can you see where I'm going with this?

I felt revitalised, energised seeing it come together...

...a buzz of exhilaration as I watched the solder flow...
(and I held my breathe ever so tightly because I was certain I would melt the wire!)

And now I'm torn because I have to leave this unfinished while we go away for three days!
(ARGHHH!!!)

But, good things come to those who wait, non? ;-)

I was also torn over these earrings I made last week...

The *Lost Medallion* Earrings
...because I just can't stop wearing them...

...and they were supposed to go into the shop...

...so that someone else could love wearing them just as much as I do...

Dilemma!

Soooo...I decided to create a Made to Order Listing.

I will create a pair of these earrings just for you!

All you have to do is ask :-)

Wishing you a wonderful, wonder-filled weekend, my friends!

  2. I agree, the ...torn....thing is a good thing! I don't blame you for keeping the earrings for yourself, they are gorgeous, and the pendant is looking stunning!
    Have a great trip!

  3. Can't wait to see what the new work looks like finished - but I'm glad you're not abandoning Morocco just yet! Enjoy your three days away, don't forget to take your Lost Medallion earrings with you.

  4. Nice job on the prongs...at least your stone fit.
Some may say it's not good to get bogged down in one style but I love the Moroccan collection...don't give up on it, maybe just try other things in between. Have a good trip.

  8. I'd keep the earrings too. They are gorgeous!

I have to work on new things all the time or my head would explode from all the ideas I have crammed in there. Keep exploring! It's looking super awesome so far!

  9. Kristen, I think if you follow your heart you can never go wrong! The heart always knows best ;-)

Thanks Sharon! I'm having lots of fun with this pendant...it's uplifting to be playing with bright yellow stones too :-)

Kirsty, I don't think I will abandon Morocco just yet...there is just so much inspiration to be found there! It's nice to take a little trip elsewhere every so often though ;-)

Sandi, I was surprised that the carved flower fit in between all of those prongs! I soldered one prong at a time, and I kept checking the fit after each one. It seemed to work ok! I rather like prong settings after this, so I foresee many more in my immediate future ;-)

Thanks Brandi, I'm happy with how it's coming along! I think many of us need to have new work on the table at all times...it keeps our minds active and our Muse happy!

    Thanks Evie :-D

Thank you Tess! I'm rather in love with the earrings myself...nothing like a pair of bold earrings to make you feel special ;-) I don't think I know of any other artist who is quite as busy as you are...especially because you're busy preparing for your wedding too! I don't know how you do it...you must have given up sleep, I think ;-) LOL

  10. Oh, I bore so easily also...I always say I have artists ADD....I can never make anything twice, as to why I am always hesitant to offer a made to order line. I think the only way we grow is to always try new things. Good luck Belinda, it looks like you have your answer already)

  11. LOL Carole, I like that...artists ADD...I think I can relate! :-) I absolutely agree that the only way to grow is to try new things! I just wish there were more hours in the day for said 'trying' ;-)
